The 10 Commandments of Job Seeking

1. Thou shalt not spray and pray
2. Thou shalt not have your resume in anything but word or text format
3. Thou shalt revamp and get your LinkedIn profile to 100%
4. Thou shalt include keywords from the job description in every resume and cover letter you send out.
5. Thou shalt search your social networks for connections within your target companies.

6. Thou shalt edit and rewrite your resume and cover letter for every relevant opening.

7. Thou shalt expect respect and feedback and move on when it’s not received.

8. Thou shalt focus on 5-10 target companies at one time.

9. Thou shalt read the entire job description and visit all company websites and social media channels before applying.

10. Thou shalt respect the recruiting boundaries set forth in the job description or on the career site.
